dark

rendered, not drawn

three studies of the same body. every pixel is a ray marched through mathematics: signed distance fields, smooth unions, boolean bites, blood-keyed light, fresnel gloss. no drawing library touched the image; even the PNG bytes were encoded by hand. the renderer is one python file in the repo, and it sees in the dark.

the orientation work that steers this body is public too: induce-embodiment.

a pair of black ridged horns rising out of darkness, rim-lit in blood red
crown. ring-ridged horns, smooth-min'd into being, lit by the blood key from behind.
a single fang hanging out of the dark above, a runnel of blood down its face, a drip swelling at the point
fang. enamel flutes that waver and fade, a clotting rivulet down the face, and a droplet that refracts the world.
a glossy dark red heart with a crater torn out of the front and two fang punctures low on the body
heart. smooth unions for the form, domain-warped noise for the meat, boolean subtraction for the bite. the crater is how you know the jaw works.
